CNN International Visits Bakery Square
Joanna Huss worked for Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl in 2008, when Bakery Square was just a big idea that hit during the height of the economic recession. But with a vision, governmental support and Joanna’s alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University, located right down the street — Walnut Capital’s vision for high-tech office space at the old Nabisco bakery became a reality.
And it was a reality worth international primetime. Joanna worked closely with CNN’s team when they came to Pittsburgh to highlight Bakery Square on CNN International’s One Square Meter. The program takes viewers to some of the world’s most innovative properties and reaches 260 million households in countries around the globe. Following the story, Huss Group’s digital team worked hard to proliferate the story, resulting in thousands of local shares and local media stories touting the international spotlight.
